APPOINTMENT DETAILS

Consultations: Consultations are not necessary to schedule an appointment. Questions about your service can gladly be answered by email. If you question whether the service is right for you or have a previous tattoo please send clear close up photos for advice. If you still wish to schedule a consultation it can be scheduled on the website for an additional cost. Procedure: On the day of the procedure: A patch test can be performed to determine if you have any sensitivity to the pigment. JoVanna uses the great Quality Pigments using sterile needles. During your time JoVanna will discuss the shape which would be most flattering for your face as well as the color which will harmonize with your skin’s undertones. JoVanna is an artist and is very skilled at blending pigment for a client’s skin tone. She will show you some before and after photographs to give you an idea of how the procedure can transform and give youth to your facial features. She 'pre-draws" your new eyebrow using a brow pencil. This ensured that the correct colors and styles are chosen and the finished result is exactly what you want. No-ones brows are the same. Because client comfort is the utmost importance to us, numbing agents are applied prior and during the treatment process. The "Pre-drawn template" is followed with use of our custom mixed specialized pigments. Your appointment takes around 90 minutes and our clients describe the sensation as 'like having your eyebrows tweezed" JoVanna will usually schedule 2 to 3 visits to give you the perfect result. During the second or third visit the color can be adjusted, made warmer or cooler if skin chemistry demands it. JoVanna also works conservatively, so she will increase the width of the brow as sessions progress. This can give a client time to adjust to the look of having their facial features refreshed with color.
Preparation: If you’ve ever hired a professional painter they will tell you that “it’s all in the prep”. Professional painters know that they get the best results when they spend extra time sanding, filling holes, making sure edges are smooth and applying the right primer. Well microblading is very similar. It all starts with a good canvas! The eyebrow area must be healthy, strong, non-sensitive and non-irritated. Here’s how to get your skin ready for the procedure.
    • Do not pick/tweeze/wax/perform electrolysis one week before procedure
    • Do not tan two weeks prior or have sunburned face
    • Do not have any type of facial/peel 2 weeks prior to treatment
    • Discontinue Vitamin A/Retinol products one month prior to treatment
    • Do not work out the day of the procedure.
    • Do not have botox 3 weeks prior
    • Do not take Fish Oil or Vitamin E one week prior (natural blood thinners)
    • Do not wax or tint your eyebrows 3 days before the procedure.
In order to avoid excessive bleeding and poor color Deposit.
    • Do not drink alcohol 24 - 48 hours before your tattoo
    • Do not consume coffee before your procedure
    • Do not take an aspirin or ibuprofen for pain relief (this thins the blood)
AFTER CARE: Each procedure behaves differently after application. Immediately after your procedure You may think that the look is too dark or feel like your brows have just been stamped on your face. This is Very normal. The first Day of your procedure you will experience lymph fluid coming from the brow, blot with a clean tissue throughout the day to avoid buildup. Keep dry for 3 Days. Gently wash the brows with antibacterial soap, unless otherwise specified. Apply a very small (size of a grain of rice) amount of ointment once a day. WHAT TO EXPECT DURING THE HEALING PROCESS: During the first 1-7 days you will experience changes in color and overall design structure. The definition will soften and the color will normally fade 30-50%. You may also experience some redness or swelling caused by the procedure, which should diminish over the next few days. Brows may scab over and have a darker undesired look, but once they are healed they are beautiful underneath. IMPORTANT REMINDERS:
    • Use a fresh pillowcase
    • Let any scabbing or dry skin naturally exfoliate away. Picking can cause scarring or loss of color
    • No facials, botox, chemical treatments or microdermabrasion for 4 weeks
    • Avoid hot, sweaty exercise for one week
    • Avoid direct sun exposure or tanning for 4 weeks after procedure. Wear a hat when outdoors.
    • Avoid heavy sweating and long hot showers for the first 10 days.
    • Avoid sleeping on your face for the first 10 days
    • Avoid swimming, lakes, hot tubs for the first 10 days
    • Avoid topical makeup including sunscreen on the area
    • DO NOT rub, pick or scratch the treated area

IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT SHOWERING

Limit your showers to 5 minutes so you do not create too much steam. Keep your face/procedure out of the water while you wash your body, then, at the end of your shower, wash your hair. Your face should only be getting wet at the very last end of the shower. Avoid excessive rinsing and hot water on the treated area.

Remember, with the proper prep and aftercare routine you will have much better results with your microblading procedure.
